Children are our future. They carry our hopes and dreams for the world. To realize their dreams — to truly fulfill their potential — children must live in a world that protects them, listens to their needs and respects their dignity.

Our vision is of a world in which all children realize their full potential in societies that respect people's rights and dignity. We believe the answer lies not in handouts, but in building the foundations for long-term, sustainable solutions. Our grassroots approach involves working with community members as long as it takes to strengthen their capacity to provide their children with stability, protection and security for the long term.

Charity Center has long recognized that children are not passive recipients of aid. We believe that long-term improvements and change can only be sustained if children are 'development actors': they participate, voice their opinions, are listened to and taken seriously because their opinions count.
